I work in US Taxation in EY and carry an experience of 2 years. I am thinking to shift my career from US tax to either external audit or internal audit. Could anyone please suggest will it be a right move. Also how is the growth, opportunity in external or internal audit compared to US Tax. Also if audit, which one to prefer external or internal audit.

Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

The power is in the company not the individual now. It will eventually swing but not in the near term. You cut a deal with the company when you took the job. The company’s not inclined to pay you more because someone else cut a better deal. Tread lightly less you be tagged a problem
It might be best to start strong, and you could potentially settle for 15-18%. This does depend on the company. If they only ever give 1-3% raises, I’d probably not expect so much. You really have to emphasize the management scope you have taken on.
I think you have some backup data to help validate your request. I'm thinking if you are asking for 20% then the pay raise will likely be negotiated down. If you think there's an appetite for additional pay, try it. The worst thing they can do is tell you know and if they do there will likely be guidance on how to get an increase.
