I’ve actually been hesitant about using a headhunter. From my experience, they sometimes focus more on filling positions quickly rather than finding the right fit. Plus, they often have a limited network, and you may miss out on roles you could discover on your own. I prefer doing my own research personally

I can completely see that. This is why I’m very clear with them and even demanding. My thoughts are that they are working for me and not vice versa.
I have head hunters reaching out to be quite frequently, trying to place talent with me. They haven’t, not once, gotten my hiring needs (or in some cases, even my industry) remotely correct. Worse, I’ve recognized that some of them seem to be reaching out just to check a box of some sort, and that makes me feel terrible for whatever talent is banking on them to find a job. Because of that experience, I would only ever, for myself, consider a headhunter with a long track record in one specific industry, and with intimate knowledge of what jobs in that industry actually look like.
I have worked with one in the past and it was a really great experience though it does seem like nobody really uses them anymore.
