I’m former McKinsey associate and now PE PortCo P&L owner - what are my options for my next career move? I joined McKinsey out of B School (HSW), left as a 2 year associate, and now I’m running a 25mm PortCo (home services). I’ll have been in the role for a year and want to start thinking about options (not in a rush to leave, just want to see what’s out there). Could I look at Ops Teams at MF/UMM or should I strictly target PortCos?

Depends on your McKinsey ratings. If they were strong, you should reach out to KKR Capstone. They love top performing MBB candidates with real operating experience.

How do they confirm your ratings? Is it just “trust me bro”

Why not just work your way up in the PortCo or move to another one within the fund? Your upside is likely going to be higher in the operator route if successful

Both. I just left a portco to go fund side, happy to chat as I was evaluating similar paths. It is much harder to go fund side.

I also left a portco to go fund side

Anyone know what the process is to get a black license plate on a new car? First time buyer and I’d like to get the black plates directly from the dealer when picking up the car, but not sure if that’s possible with custom order plates (I.e: do I get the white plates at the dealer then have to pay again and wait 3 months for the black ones to come in)

So I chose an offer for Deloitte India over Infosys as a Node.js developer. Joining next week. But most of the time when people praise Deloitte they mean USI so I have been of two minds and wondering if I made the right decision.
Also is travel needed for Consultant designation?

Hello PwC AC Friends,

I have been on bench since I joined the firm 3 months ago. Now I have got project but still on bench. I have got mail regarding not raising snapshots because I was on bench so i didn't do anything except trainings and some learning. I don't have hours to raise snapshot for.

What shall I do in this case? I am very much worried that if i don't have any project hours to show, will they fire me or what actions are supposed to be taken ? Thanks.

Have money invested in S&P 500, and now starting to regret not having diversified to international stocks as well. Would want to diversify now to buy a total stock market index, however since S&P 500 dropped more than that index, not sure it’s worth to crystallize losses to do that. The alternative is to stop buying S&P 500 and start buying other markets as separate ETFs, to eventually bring in line approx. with total stock market index. Any advice on the best course of action?
