I wouldn't overthink this. They know that many of the candidates they are interviewing have been laid off. It's common in the current job market, unfortunately. I wouldn't bring it up, but answer honestly if you are asked.
Laid off or fired?
If it’s not directly relevant to the role or hasn’t come up, I’d focus on showing how you're a great fit. If they ask about gaps or timing, be truthful, but there’s no need to volunteer the layoff info unless it becomes necessary.
If you’re laid off, i wouldn’t worry about it. A lot of companies are doing it so it’s likely that they’ve run into multiple candidates with the same experience.
