I'm new to the world of energy consulting and have heard S&P, Wood Mackenzie and McKinsey would all have relevant roles.

Any other companies? I specifically want to work somewhere where all the projects are based on energy and traded commodities so not too keen on McKinsey, but also a semi large firm since the last small firm I worked at ended up having racism issues...

Good Morning. Here's my dilemma. I have an approved H1B application which got picked up in 2019-20 lot and approved in Jan 2020, before the world went into lockdown. The stamping process was initiated but it couldn't complete as the USCIS offices were shutdown die to the pandemic. I have watched patiently about all the regulations Trump Administration brought in to deny any entry to H1B applicants who weren't already working in the states or who were waiting to return.

Having worked with energy now for a decade, I find myself enjoying the craziness of it all: You're always two decisions (in Moscow or Riyadh) away from prices halving or doubling. War or no war is quite often a sensitivity, and adoption of EVs/renewables/biofuels will be between X and 10X. Find it hard to imagine doing strategy work in the less volatile/crazy domains - what could be more exciting than this 😋

How are you all involved in your local communities wrt the environment / sustainability / climate / energy? I want to get more involved but not sure what is out there. Any ideas welcome!

Has any US citizen had success getting a job abroad in the energy industry? Whether that be through a US company (i.e. transferring offices) or by applying to utilities or consulting companies abroad?

What is a starting salary for a senior consultant that does energy transformation consulting at other consulting companies? I know GH underpays lower than market, but I’m having a hard time gauging how much more. Not enough reports on Glassdoor for my company and city. Please mention YOE and whether you live in a city with a higher COL. Senior consultant is equivalent to the next level up after entry level at GH.
