Good Morning. Here's my dilemma. I have an approved H1B application which got picked up in 2019-20 lot and approved in Jan 2020, before the world went into lockdown. The stamping process was initiated but it couldn't complete as the USCIS offices were shutdown die to the pandemic. I have watched patiently about all the regulations Trump Administration brought in to deny any entry to H1B applicants who weren't already working in the states or who were waiting to return.

Any visa holders here who have rental investments? What’s on the realm of what’s permitted and what’s not? I’ve read online that you can have rental investments and property managers but can’t actively manage it.

Does USCIS prohibit the individual from paying all expense related to GC filing like the h1b filing fees?

How long does the switch and approval take from one firm to another if one is on H1B with the first firm?

Might be a dumb question, but do you need to request LCA if you are gonna work in a different city in the same state for at most 5 business days? (on H1b)

Just had an outstanding year end review with no negative comments by our section’s managing partner, only words of encouragement and to keep up what I’m doing. And I only billed 1805 hours last year. Not all firms, even in big law, require you to kill yourself for you to be a valued player. Posting this for those of you who need a sign to move and find the right environment/ team that supports your career without demanding your entire life/ free time.

Seems like companies and projects still haven’t quite figured out how to effectively run remote teams, including teaming aspects like getting to know each other or other fun activities, etc. What have you seen work well? It could be rituals like team stand ups or optional activities like virtual games.
