Wondering how to get better at my new job as Procurement Administrator and meet goals.

I used to care about and chase the opportunity to produce cool/fun/funny work. But, as of the last couple years..it’s just more about stability, keeping working relationships happy, building finances, i.e. it’s just a job. Not about pushing for the most fun creative ideas—I still do that—I just don’t care enough to fight as much if they don’t get it. Definitely still feel genuinely defeated when truly awesome concepts get glossed over by a client who has no clue what they want.

Anyone here do HR for an organization with both union and non union employees? My organization is very small consisting of 8 union employees and 7 non union employees. We do not have an official handbook and I’ve been working with Paychex HR team to put one together. It’s a bit frustrating because I feel my rep doesn’t know too much about mixed environments. What does the long-term career progression look like, both salary and title-wise, for someone looking to get into FP&A-type roles? Can you at some point land roles that involve financial/corporate strategy? One test away from getting the CPA and looking to get roles outside of standard corporate accounting.
