I’m starting to feel weirdly territorial about “my” schools. When someone with a better GPA or bigger job title says they’re applying to the same program, I get instantly defensive. It’s irrational, I know, but this process brings out the worst competitiveness in me. Anyone else feeling that?

Does an MBA (US) make sense for me? Male, Indian, Age 32, Married working in tech consulting with 10 YOE. Base is $165 with steady increases and bonus is typically 15%. I eventually do want to cross the $300K threshold but I know stopping work for 2 years and getting and MBA probably won’t get me a $300K job right away. Becoming a manger in my current company/path will probably get me there in terms of TC. Also considering EMBA from a good school (Wharton Global, Duke, Kellogg, Booth).
