I’m sure you’ve all been bombarded with ads and emails trying to sell you AI powered products etc. My question is, for Plaintiffs attorneys, what tools or resources have you tried that actually worked for you? Demand drafting software, verdict search engines…. Anything you have used that was actually worth it’s while?

I’m a defense man but represent law firms as outside General Counsel. I’ve got 2 client firms that are using OpenAI licensed tools for chatbots for client intake, it is pretty incredible what they can do but both firms have invested a lot of time and money into them.

I’ve got lots of client law firms exploring transcription AI, like Fathom, Zapier, Parrot, etc. to record, summarize, and analyze client communications.

I’ve also demo’ed CoCounsel, it seems really powerful for research and drafting but is very expensive.

My two cents: try everything you can, every product is offering free demos now, and see what can work for you. Even if they’re too expensive to make sense now you’ll be better set up for tomorrow. The stuff is a game changer.

Thank you. I did notice a lot of free trials so, I plan on doing exactly that.

I’ve been using a chatbot on our website which has yielded high conversions. We have researched the ai demand writers and their marketing is stronger than their real life reviews thus far anyway though I’d expect that to change in the future. We use chatgpt4 for administrative drafting of letters, forms, and emails, as well as marketing copy scripting etc. It’s very robust BUT you have to maintain confidentiality at all times. And triple check any and all work for accuracy.

I’ve been using case text’s co-counsel, but still deciding if it’s worth the high price. I keep justifying it because I’m a solo and kind of look at it as a very cheap, mediocre first year associate. It has come in handy in giving me a head start on research. It also has helped me find the needle in a haystack on hundreds of pages of legislation history. I probably don’t utilize the other capabilities enough.

If you have firm with more man power though, I’m not convinced it’s worth the significant increase in overhead.

Hi all- My SO is currently at a Big4 & was initially preparing for S&O roles at GCP but given the high number of ex MBB consultants hired, they believe its just more competition to get the offer & to eventually get promoted over time.

Instead, they have decided to pursue program manager or cloud consultant roles, which they feel might have a lower barrier to entry from an assessment standpoint. Not sure if the bowl agrees but would like to get your thoughts, thanks!

Hi everyone. Is it typical for the attorney to take credit for the work a paralegal does? An example: I gave some ideas about deposition questions and some observations I made (I was asked about giving suggestions) regarding a witness and the attorney mentioned that he’s the one that had these great questions/observations. Zero credit or thank you for the work I did.

What’s a good LA or NY business litigation firm and salary to expect? I’m a 2yr with quite frankly a lot of experience across civ rights, PI, excessive force, wrongful death, employment defense, K dispute, corp. structure dispute, professional licensure. Write every kind of brief, appeals, argue motions, take depos. Am the only associate working directly under partner on all cases. In house or M&A/Real Estate Transactional are likely the end goal but want to get the litigation out of me first.

I currently work at a small PI firm in Atlanta were EVERYTHING is settled presuit. If we’re unable to settle, then it’s referred to another firm for litigation. This whole process seems very atypical to me and the attorneys rarely touch a file until the first liability offer is received. The paralegals handle everything from intake to drafting the demands. The attorney briefly skims (does NOT read) the demand packages and signs. Is this ethical?? Anyone else work at a firm that is run this way??
