What's changed from the prior situation that led to the firing? New/different manager? I think it's very dependent on the circumstances that led to the firing, how long ago it occurred, and what's changed since then. It's also possible the recruiter hasn't connected the dots yet, but if/when your name and resume are advanced to the actual to hiring team at the firm they will recognize you from the past, no?
