I have found you are un the same role as a COO of any company, but also expected to manage the Creative Direction of the agency.
For me it has always been a bit if a bitter sweet as I love the get involved into the creative decisions, but I more then often ans busy dealing with client relations, partnerships, account management and overall agency health.

Bowl Leader
Hi. This is so situational. It seems a lot of agencies move people in to CD positions, but never share what is expected of the role or how to learn what is needed. It’s trial by fire. I was lucky to spend much of my career brand side where there was clear expectations and training/mentoring. That being said, I still would proactively ask for involvement in tasks I knew I would need to know how to complete in the future so I would know what to do when I get there. Also, I have never had a problem letting my leaders know there were certain things they were expecting that I did not know how to do yet. They would then show me what to do or get me the right training. I’ve never waited for someone to show me the way.
