Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

I use a 28 inch monitor and love it
I’m on #team ultrawide myself, once you have that you simply can’t go back. With my laptop, ultrawide, and an additional screen above, I’m able to have 4 full screen applications open. Normally it’s an excel file, Teams, the prior report and this years’s report. Even without that much overkill, I’d prefer more screen (1440p ultrawide) to just 4k.
The Alienware 34” curved 1440p monitor is awesome. Paid around $1,100 and it’s perfect for work and gaming.

4K is not necessary unless you also plan on watching sports, movies or playing video games

Unless you’re dying to see gridlines and pivot tables in super high def, not really necessary. I don’t think it would be a drawback if you have a 4k monitor already but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get one solely for work

I have two 27" curved Samsung monitors and love the setup. Both 1080p and no problems. I use for word, excel, and internet.

I had a 4K 32 inch monitor and it was overkill. Definitely get 1440p for anything over 27 inches though.
Get an ultra wide monitor.

Unless you’re saying you need that spreadsheet to look exceptionally sharp, 4K is overkill for excel
contrary to most posts, I say if you have the money to spend on a 4k screen or you see a great deal on one, go for it. I switched to 4k for gaming and 4k spreadsheets was a byproduct. I think making the switch from 1080p to 4k was just a little easier on the eyes due to increased sharpness - were staring at tiny numbers all day for crying out loud lol. if you are going to be stretching your budget for a 4k screen not worth it. otherwise why not
