Let’s talk office set ups. I am looking at a Uplift standing desk as my big splurge because I have back issues, and the room I work in has horrible lighting so I’m considering some sort of selfie light ring type thing that I can clip to my monitor. Anyone have feedback on either the desk or a light they like, or any other ergo friendly home office hacks you’ve found helpful?

FTM - I’m just curious on how some of your maternity leave is set up. I received short term disability pay for 6 weeks and then paid from my job for 6 - they offered additional bonding time, but unpaid. The paid portion came from my “sick time.” I wasn’t sick, I was caring for and bonding with my son. That’s been bothering me since I returned. Now I don’t have any sick leave and any last minute time that I need to take is unpaid. Other countries give moms the entire year, 100% paid 🥴

They always want to help. The problem is they’ve never offered to pay for those things for me, and I’ve never asked because I’m a fully grown adult and don’t want them to spend their retirement on us. She has savings and isn’t struggling financially. Why does this bother me so much?
