No. They hired you for SDET role. They will not change now. If you don't have other offers you can consider joining as SDET and do internal switch after few months., else you can look for other opportunities

I am currently interviewing a few of companies. I want to be able to travel (abroad) and work. Time zone isn't an issue, I can work at the same time zone or ensure significant time overlap.
