I work in luxury, and can tell you from real-time data that the lower end of the market is slowing a bit -- as we expected -- but the middle and upper end hasn't seen a decline yet.
This is fairly standard behavior though, because the top wealthy % both in the US and elsewhere elsewhere usually continue spending at the same or similar level as during bull markets, but *what* and *how* they buy changes.
Very broadly, it's the conspicuous part of the consumption that shifts. Less flashy, fewer logos, more heritage items that could sometimes be considered investments or at least non-depreciating assets.
Lmao yes luxury goods are still doing just fine. I’m guessing you make somewhere in the low to mid six figures, and/or have a catastrophic amount of debt to repay.
The rich might reel in their spending or be more discerning; the wealthy have no such concerns.
