Yeah.... thank you.
I have a call set with them on Friday. Someone else at Pru claims that he has had great results so far, but just started with them a few months ago. Supposedly they set up legit appointments with companies wanting to move their sponsored plan.
Yeah... I didn’t know how legit that was. Sounds too good to be true and when that happens in this industry it’s usually a scam.
Keep me updated with how things progress with you.
I just got another spam email from a new company trying to selling 401k advisor appointments VRS - Virtual Retirement Solutions. They’re about three miles away from the other two companies. I’m guessing they’re all interrelated. That’s too much of a coincidence.
I've used both Wharton and Retirement Plan Ratings and wouldn't recommend either. Wharton was only slightly better, but I would definitely steer clear of RPR. You'll get leads, but they won't fit your criteria or the caller will have asked no screening questions. The owner's a jerk to deal with.
Most of the RPR leads I got, and there weren't many unless I complained, were with people who only wanted a free review and who had no intention of moving either the plan or the adviser. Wharton was initially OK at screening and volume of leads, but then fell off. Going on two years now with the first contract and had to threaten legal action to start getting leads again. 'Course, the quality is even worse now.
On the other hand, I've had some success with BluStar (www.blustarleads.com). They actually ask some decent screening questions.
