Wouldn’t this information possibly create legal liability for employment discrimination? Or be a factor in a potential suit? I have never been asked to submit a photo.
My limited HR take is to agree. More risk than reward for sure
I know I've seen that before, I remember it as I once had to find the headshot jpg I had on my Google Drive. Perhaps it is becoming more common. I'd be curious to know how they assess the photos, if they assess them. It seems like someone who hasn't had a pro headshot would be disadvantaged.
I don't see an asterisk, so it doesn't appear to be required. Having said that, I must also say that I agree with SA1 regarding possible legal liability.
I agree with you, and I really think it may be considered illegal.
I have never seen that before. Even if attaching a photo isn't mandatory, I would still be considering it a red flag. Like others mentioned, it's questionable legal territory, and insight into company culture that I wouldn't ignore.
Nobody wants to employ the ugly 😆
