Yes, considering C1 band, contribution to practice related activities should be a must. C1 is considered as a Managerial/Architect type of role and the employee in that role needs to justify the position by leading a variety of activities.
The G&Os for an employee under C1 band are defined in such a way that will help the employee achieve required targets.
Again, if one is not keen on serving practice initiatives then no one can force it on them.
Also QPLC for C1 is revenue dependent, if an employee helps their practice get more revenue by contributing to various activities then it will benefit the employee in return.

My question is if i did not contribute to practice, only worked for project, will they put me in PIP
If your manager deems it ok working on project alone as the measuring G&O then he might settle it with rating as "3", provided you performed well.
It all depends on your manager.

Practice manager or project manager?
project manager is my additional mamager always.
However practice manager is my L1 in system
It all depends on the Manager or the Practice Head ..have a clear discussion on what's the expected KRA?
