Buy some plants and put them in the room to absorb the off gas. https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/gardening/a32552/houseplants-that-purify-air/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=arb_ga_ghk_md_dsa_prog_org_us_a32552&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyZTnkZHv-wIVDI_ICh1SXQaVEAAYASAAEgJK7vD_BwE
This would be an immediate remedial step. Next, ask the company if this is normal.
I would personally be concerned about the off gassing. I’m interested in buying a new mattress and will probably stay away from memory foam for this reason. Sounds like the others have some good tips though.
The year is 2050 and Californian democrats have enacted a ban on memory foam products for causing cancer
Make all the jokes you want but they've saved millions of lives with those regulations
I had a mattress once that I swear contributed to my autoimmune disease. Once I got the disease I now am smarter and try to reduce my exposure to chemicals and things that could irritate my body further. Here is a good summary of some things to think about. You don’t want to be breathing VOCs and formaldehyde and flame retardant chemicals for hours on end while you sleep. All which can cause cancer. https://mattressinquirer.com/do-you-have-a-toxic-mattress/

Keep the room ventilated, or if there’s a way you could get it to air out outside for a few days, try that. But also remember the potential effect on you from the small amount the mattress off gasses is likely not going to be harmful.
How long has it been since you opened the mattress?
At the end of the day you spend the most of your time in your bed countless hours it should not off gas chemical retardants. This is why I opted to go for organic mattress. I know it’s a pain but worth it! Check out Brentwood brand for pillows and mattresses
Try putting an air purifier in the room
Yeah I’d be concerned about this
I bought a Tempur-pedic mattress about eight years ago. The instructions were very clear. Take the mattress out of the plastic casing and place it on your bed or a hard surface. Then they encouraged you to jump up and down to almost “aerate” it. Tempur-pedic also suggested that you leave the mattress in a well ventilated area and not sleep on it for at least 48 hours. Luckily, I was able to time my vacation with my mattress delivery so it was airing for a whole week before I was able to slip on it but yes, the smell does last a while.
