Is there any downside to selecting “Do not contact my [current/previous] employer?”

I am finally turning a corner and completing onboarding paperwork (via the platform First Advantage). I got an email saying there will be a question about whether or not they should contact my “present employer.” I’m not presently employed but didn’t leave on bad terms or anything, so I don’t want to give the impression I have anything to hide. However, my new job is any of my past company’s business
