There's a ton of self help and leadership books out there to help people in their careers. If there was one that was written front the lense of a public accounting, would you read it?

I would if I could bill it

Depends on who wrote it. If it was run of the mill line partner probably not, I'm not interested in reading about anecdotes from some random person based on their personal experience. But I might consider it if it was a well researched book from a service line leader or similar written in conjunction with an expert on productivity, management, etc.

Like how to manage a team/be a good leader in public accounting? I probably wouldn’t read it as it is too niche to PA and would want something more broad that I can carry with me. That being said I’m sure there are people that would read it ( partners)

Hi friends! I’m looking for resources to help me be successful in a “Functional Lead” role.

The role is in FinTech
I’m responsible for strategy, comms and key partnerships for a bank product. It reports through Customer Experience but touches product, Ops. marketing. It’s basically a Project Manager role but more nuanced.

Anyone out there in a role like this? Any books. videos or even best practices to share?

What's with the saturation of self help/ productivity books on social media (reddit, Instagram etc.) ? Not saying I don't mind reading them, but I see this quite a bit. Know a few people who consciously only read non fiction instead. Just thinking aloud over here. Would like to hear what you guys think ?

If I was a junior on a team during a campaign launch, is that something I can put in my book? I helped during the concepting phase, was responsible for keeping the boards up to date, and wrote a lot of the supporting materials (print, social etc) but obviously I was not on the shoot or the lead on writing the script. As long as I’m clear about my role is that acceptable?

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷
