Good time? No. Worth it? YES! We relocated to San Diego from Midwest almost 6 years ago (sorry I know it’s outside your range) and have not regretted it a single day.

If you have the funds for a job prospect available then go for it. Before you make the jump though, look up the housing market and rent prices. If it's a good paying corporate job then you may not have to worry about that but it's always good to take housing into consideration. I went to school in San Diego; the weather is majority sunny but it is pricey as well.
