It came up in discussion today that the 4th of July falls on my regularly scheduled day off and I mentioned that I was going to take 2 half days to make up for it. I was asked to clarify and I said that since the restaurant is closed on my natural day off I would get an extra day off and that I’ll just take 2 half days. I was told that’s not how it works, that if we are closed on my day off I don’t get an extra day off. Is there any labor laws pertaining to this?

This all depends on the state you live in as well as your contract/handbook with the company.

I was told the same thing for a past holiday that fell on my regularly scheduled day off.

Can a law firm in CA rescind an offer if background check reveals an omitted employment history? Worked at a firm for 2-3 months back in 2019 that wasn’t a good fit. Not fired but left to really drive my career in a better direction. I now have an offer from a great firm and scared background check will affect my chances.

Hey! Joining the firm next month. Some stupid questions:
What type of laptop they give you? any BYOD option? Mac option?
What tools do the use? do they use office 365 and teams or other?
Cheers!
