There's no need to panic. If it's been three months you're presumably still collecting unemployment plus you probably got some severance. And panic applying is just bad strategy. Fire up the networking, get in touch with professional associates and let them know you're looking for work. If someone doesn't know of anything, they may steer you to someone who does. You're right to want to proceed strategically and doing some networking is a good way to start on that.
Should you let the recruiter or HR know you are laid off? I have told a recruiter about it and he direct me to somewhere else and refuse to help me.
