It’s been over 15 years since I’ve been on the job hunt or written a resume. I’m a little lost on where to begin. It feels like so much has changed in 15 years. Do people still print their resumes out on fancy paper? Does anyone have advice on how to start writing my resume?

I can't recall the last time I submitted a printed resume. Now it's common to convert it to pdf format and submit it that way. The nice part of that is you can tailor the resume for particular jobs you apply to. Just have a file that's your basic resume, and do whatever edits and convert that to pdf. It can get a little tricky keeping the various versions straight, but I guess everyone has their own quirky system to manage that.

I’ve found really nice templates on Etsy for pretty cheap. And I do not use resume paper. In fact, I don’t remember the last time I printed a resume. Typically, I’ve sent it digitally.

Don’t use any fancy resume templates. Use a simple template so it’s ATS compatible. And no, everything is online

Use one of the AI resume services and do a lot of research on what role/industry you plan to target — competition is high these days and no one seems to care about how much experience you have it is all about if your skillset current and you are forward thinking. And no, you don’t print out your resume anymore and circulate it at interviews.
