Dear Amdocs Hiring Team, Thanks for the worst experience. You guys took almost 2 months for hiring process, asked for all the documents, even shared the CTC breakup over email and at last after multiple follow ups over calls and emails, you replied by stating that "Unfortunately , we are not moving ahead with your candidature at moment." This is something I struggled with for a long time - people pleasing and lack of setting healthy boundaries with yourself and others.
Firstly, you can do a few things.
Schedule: I can fit you in at (Date in the future)
Rate increase based on urgency: I am quite busy at the moment, however if this very urgent, I will need to shuffle a few things around and I have an urgency rate (1.5x, 2x, 3x). I negotiate this in all my contracts with regular clients. One actually needed it - I said - I can rearrange but I will need to charge the urgent fee as discussed - they said ok no problem (2x original rate) - they didn't do it again.
Get Help: Bring on a jr and train them and manage them.
Work with a partner: negotiate a referral fee.
In a permanent postion I've said yes for many reasons and pushing back - this other project has a deadline, does your project take priority? It puts the owness back on them to interrupt company schedules - people don't like that. They usually will say "Actually, we can wait another 3-4 weeks it's not as urgent".
