What’s the best way to turn down a 2nd interview? During the 1st interview, I learned that the compensation for the role is not within the range that I am looking for and requires 400 more billable hours a year than what I bill now. I’d basically be laterally for my current salary just to bill 400 more hours. I also wasn’t aware that the local office was strictly ID. Firm website advertises lots of practice areas. Any advice? I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?
