I've been a Site Superintendent (small company) and Assistant Superintendent (for a large company, multi-family) and now cannot seem to get hired any more (think I'm too 'long in the tooth' to get hired anymore) cannot get call backs after 50. When should I give up and find another field?

Has anyone ever tried to work outside of AFS's typical locations (DC, SAT, STL)? I'd like to stay with AFS, but I want to move away from TX to CO. I've heard rumors that some people have been able to do this. Any experience or insight?

If the ultimate goal is to move in pharma/biotech (bd / strategy type role), does prestige of consulting firm matter? Or would it be better to work for less known firm that may have more client facing opportunities?

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?
