I've been at the same firm for about 10 years. If I get a job offer from another Financial Services firm, my current firm won't let me work there for two weeks, right? Do I still give two weeks notice or just give notice on a Friday and start new job on a Monday?

If you don’t want gaps. Give two weeks notice on Friday start new job on Monday. If they let you do the two weeks then take pto

Use the two weeks as a vacation

I always give two weeks but generally speaking they won't let you work out the two weeks. Usually you still get paid for it and they go ahead and walk you out. However it is still good to offer to work the two weeks in my opinion.

If you have been employed for 10 years, you should definitely inform your current employer that you are leaving. If your current employer has been “unfair with you “ then you can just leave. Your current employer may want to consider your leaving and give you a better offer.

My immediate leader and my entire division has been great, I feel that I need to clarify. Unfortunately, the firm as a whole has completely sold out. Layoffs, offshoring, etc.

Left Jones myself after 9. If you are a FA, you will get walked the moment you submit your notice.

Home office, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same. Thx for your reply.

Give the two weeks as a courtesy. If they walk you out then you get a vacation.

Are you BOA, FA or home office?

Home office. It’s an absolute sh*t show with layoffs and uncertainty. I’m actually sad to leave as I’m an FSD who loves my branches. But I cannot beat a base pay of 22% more. I van get that anytime soon.

When I moved from t rowe price to Morgan Stanley I put in two weeks and was working just fine, it wasn't until I got fingerprinted by MS that I got flagged. TRP got notified and security and HR rolled up to my desk and walked me out.

Wasn't even able to clear out my desk. My manager had to bring it all to me. No bad blood, apparently you just can't be finger printed at two different firms.

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?
