I've been at the same firm for about 10 years. If I get a job offer from another Financial Services firm, my current firm won't let me work there for two weeks, right? Do I still give two weeks notice or just give notice on a Friday and start new job on a Monday?

I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC.
