I’ve been out of school for almost a year and have several months of experience at a small firm. I'm almost 4/4 on the CPA and plan to stay until I’m officially licensed, but I’m lost on the next step. I’m okay with tax or audit, but my main goal is hitting $100k with good job security. Since I’ve heard Big 4 is a long shot after graduation, what other paths should I look at? I want something that’s actually safe from AI and outsourcing.

I asked almost this exact question last year. The consensus I kept hearing was this: get 2 to 4 solid years in public or a strong industry role, pass the CPA, then pivot. Manager level in public, senior or manager in industry, or internal audit leadership is where the money and stability start to line up. None of those paths is getting wiped out by AI any time soon.

I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m making $140k. I have a college degree but no marketing, engineering, or product experience. What other departments/jobs could I jump to and still keep close to my OTE? I’m pretty good at Salesforce and have thought about a SFDC admin type role, but that’s all I’ve thought of so far.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?
