I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about higher pay for in-office employees over remote employees. Has anyone’s company actually started doing this? What are your thoughts about it? I can see both sides but I don’t think a huge increase for being in office makes sense

My company doesn’t do that but I am a firm believer that you should be paid more to be in the office since you have more travel expenses than the wfh employee.

My company requires me to come in to the office. If I am required to come in every day, my commute would cost me over 6,500 per year. Why do you think I shouldn't be compensated for that extra expense you wouldn't incur if you were allowed to work from home?

We have.

Remote folks make $0. In-office make a lot more.

Wow that’s so interesting. How has it impacted morale, if at all?

I have been seeing this too and I am glad my company doesn't do that. People who work from home shouldn't be paid less than those who don't. As long as the work is getting done and nobody is slacking, there is no reason for it.

This is my general take too

In the process of interviewing for a strategy/Corp dev position at an activewear/athleisure company and they want me to think of a couple tangential industries that may have companies for acquisition and do a write up. I’m stumped on what else an activewear company would buy besides other activewear companies. I can only think of home fitness (Lulu’s Mirror) or vitamins/supplements. Any thoughts?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?
