Has it been difficult to book modeling gigs?
My agency use to manage models but then stopped because it does not generate money as much as people think. Modeling careers are not sustainable jobs that will make you consistent money. It’s more like an ego booster. I would not bank it all on modeling. Obviously you’re attractive so use that to open other doors and avenues of interest. Plus it is a short term job. Not too much lifespan in that career choice for a majority of women. Oddly enough seasoned men can have a longer modeling career than women in that field.
How old are you and what do you look like?
24, 5′10, light brown hair, green eyes, I'm got defined muscle but not bulky. haha feels weird trying to describe myself not sure what else is relevant
But short answer would be “No” BUT! “Yes” if you learn how to utilize the mingling and different groups of people which it will likely give you access to, and just always pay attention to the whole room and find a once in a lifetime opportunity from someone you randomly meet at a yoplait commercial. And not because he wants anything involving your banana, or the splits!
I see, would you then say that I have to be a bit of a socialite/people-person to further my career? I'm a bit introverted so I'm not too sure if i would bank my success on my ability to talk to the right people
I would say go for it - opps don't come around all the time
In most cases, the answer is no, especially if it isn't the path you want to take. I only say this because of the many theater kids and aspiring actors who have dedicated so much time performing and practicing their skills. You will be competing with a lot of people for decent paying roles, too, and you might feel burn out quicker because it isn't something you really want to do.
Bills have to get paid. Don’t listen to this guy
Absolutely not - we all have bills to pay. You can always have multiple projects/gigs going as well.
Hmm. Acting is a tough job. It requires passion and dedication. If this is not the path you want to take, it's alright to just focus on the things that you're passionate about. Don't be pressured.
Bills have to get paid regardless
There's more that goes into acting than just doing and getting paid. It's a craft you have to learn and be passionate about. If you have the opportunity to do it, then give it a try. You might come around to it in the end. Wishing you the best of luck!
