I’ve been there! It’s tough, but the best way to bounce back is to own your mistakes and learn from them. Acknowledge where you underperformed and focus on what you can do differently next time. If you’re burned out, switching clients might help, but also consider taking a step back to recharge.
Honestly, just about everyone has gone through something like this.
I think the best think you can do is try to take a week of PTO to disconnect and recharge a bit. Continue to do some reflection and just get back at it, using your learnings to help you the next go around. I don’t think you need to switch lines of business (unless you want to). It might be helpful if you can find a coach/mentor/other peer to learn from and be a sounding board.

I’ve been there too - sending you lots of good vibes. It’s really hard but I think what helped me was realizing 1) this job doesn’t define you as a person and underperforming on one project isn’t the end of the world (depending on your goals), 2) so much of this job is pattern recognition - the people who are good at it have simply done it more, and 3) on your new case, truly treat it like a clean slate and try your best to not let the memories of the past case take over too much. It will get better!! Here to chat if helpful too
