It's high school 3.0. When they keep reposting jobs, it means managament is to blame. 1/5 people in America has some form of mental illness and baby boomers are way up there in age. Just look at sleepy, absent minded Joe.
I've been getting the follow up email which says "due to unforseen circumstances we arent moving forward in the hiring process" or we are putting the job on hold for now. I also feel they check my age and maybe they'd rather hire someone younger.
Its never been easy, these are just new reasons why. You have to stay focused and know that eventually you will get hired.
I have seen that become a common phrase lately. I don't like it personally. I would say often times it's real, but other times, it’s a soft “no” when they’ve moved on with another candidate and want to avoid pushback or questions. The market's been finnicky where roles open up, go quiet, open again.
That seems to be a trend lately, companies going through the motions but not actually hiring. I can only assume it's related to the trade war and people being apprehensive about adding to the payroll. No one wants to hire people if the country is about to be pushed into a recession.
This has been happening since before the trade war and I fully believe it has to do with government metrics. During bidens admin, they loved to brag about the "jobs they created" when job boards are fluffed up with unavailable jobs and jobs get a kickback for having new roles appear available, but aren't measured by actual hiring or retention
I would say it doesn't sound normal except that in this job market, that is happening more and more frequently. Due to budget cuts companies may start looking for someone and then decide they can't hire for the role. So that probably is legit.
Are u a green haired , them/they , non-binary LGBTq+ etc ??? ..... If so, obvious answer is obvious ....
Absolutely not. I am however beginning to wonder if it’s ageism. I’m gen X and it’s younger people doing the interviewing. I had a great work history, started companies, launched some companies, was in directorship roles, etc. I have a lot to offer in my field, and yet they don’t seem interested.
