"Job posted 46 minutes ago" - "over 100 applicants have hit apply"

Are they bots? I have no idea. When I first entered the job market 5 years ago, I was finding jobs within 10-50 applicants, rarely did it ever get close to 100. If it was I didn't even bother.

How are you staying alert and making sure you are getting your application in early?

They’re mostly not bots. It’s a mix of one click applies, unqualified applicants, people applying internationally, and resumes blasted everywhere. That number looks scarier than it actually is.

I would start looking at more niche websites, local job boards, Chamber of Commerce, etc.

There are ads on FB and IG of AI apps that apply automatically to jobs for you. It is getting there, where people on the app write their job experience and skills, and the AI app creates the resume and automatically applies to a bunch of jobs. I don't know if these things are affecting the job opportunities for others. Are these AI apps giving good results to the user, or is it just another app that is wasting people's time and money? But I also know that a lot of people are looking for work, and unfortunately, you are competing with people who are willing to work remotely from another country, for less money.

It's insane. Some of them have to be bots, I'm sure a lot are just desperate jobseekers who've got resumes stored on their phones and notifications enabled so they know the second a new job gets posted. That's what I've been doing to the best of my ability. Not always possible to do, but I'm trying.

As someone who filled one position last year, we stopped taking applications after a couple of days. The desperation is real in some cases. There were a lot of unqualified applicants mixed in with a large number of qualified people. Then I had to get specific to get through that group. Still apply. Just be targeted about your approach.

Always gotta apply before it closes but then seek out a contact at the company if you can!

Do people really have to work late night in advertising agency? I'm new to the industry like I graduated a year ago from an average college with some high hopes to dive into a professional agency, working in an average company but thank god I got the job in this Covid crises, yet underpaid and working for atleast 12 to 13 hrs a day, and someday the working hrs surpasses, isn't there any regulatory that can help people like us for our well being? Or help us get money, in return of our health?
