If you are an hourly employee, then yes you have to submit a time sheet. If salaried, you shouldn’t have to.

I would say it’s based on Level, but not sure if that applies across orgs. I started as a Level 2 in sales and was paid hourly (I submitted time sheets). Once I was promoted to L3, I became salaried and no longer needed to submit those. I’d imagine it’s the same across Google, but I don’t have experience outside of sales.

Resume gap: My position will be abruptly end in December (was informed this week). However, I won't be interview ready in the next 2 weeks. So how bad does a gap of 1-2 months appear to tech recruiters?

Common knowledge is it is a disadvantage to the candidate from a salary negotiation process. I'm also told hiring decisions at places like AWS & GCP take time and it might be a few months before an offer letter is received.
