I think I’m ok w the 20 years. It’s the next 25 that worry me
Midlife crisis kicking in hardcore for me. Never really thought it was a real thing until now.
25 here. Gotta figure out how to retire soon!
Not that it’s bad, just that the years have flown by
28 years still going...
Hey! Same here. Still not cynical. Keep yourself fresh, keep learning. Experience is still needed, as Long as you don’t fall behind skills-wise
Same. Time is flying. I read a quote by Doris Day that is wedged between brain cells forever: “The worst part of middle age is knowing you’ll grow out of it.” I’m not in denial but this makes me want to jump out a window.
31 years here. It beats the hell out of working in banking, insurance, for the govt, retail, hospitality, auto repair, tech, and many other industries. At an agency, you will work with so many interesting characters, you will work on a huge rage accounts across many industries. There’s lots of drinking and fun. You can dress casually, and most ad people are crazy and fun. We’re the misfits who don’t want to draw within the lines. Enjoy the industry. Move around while you’re young because that raise isn’t coming. The CFO is holding everyone to 5% regardless of how amazing you are. Why? Because clients don’t want to pay agencies shit and we’re trying to squeak out a profit so we don’t get fired. Only stay at an agency 2-3 years, then move to get a 10% salary bump at the next place. Why am I telling you this? Because I want you to avoid the mistakes I made. Good luck.
27 here, still love it
Don’t worry, we won’t tell a soul.
Wow
