My husband does not show affection openly and is quite lazy in bed, and I thought I could deal with it because I love him, but it’s really really beginning to annoy me. For example, he refuses to do any foreplay and basically asks that I get on top of him most of the time when we have have sex- if I push him to do anything else he basically just refuses to have sex at all as some sort of ‘protest’. How can I help a parent with depression/anxiety get help while not making them feel worse?

I don’t feel connected to my parents at all. After spending 15 years here, I am unable to connect to their extreme right nationalist views and the extra emphasis on the connection to our roots.

Let’s say you have two young, high income partners in a couple who want to buy a house together but don’t really care to get married. They already live together in an apartment but both want to move to a house to build equity and have a yard, not share walls, etc. Should one partner buy the house and the other pays rent until they get married, or should they get a mortgage together without being married? I realize there isn’t a “right” answer but I’m interested in people’s experiences here.

My mom and dad are separating (bad terms) and not speaking, but my mom asks me about him everyday. She knows I don’t want to talk to him or about him, but continues to bring it up everyday.. Confession: The only in-law that I had a great relationship with passed away unexpectedly. The two remaining in-laws were on thin ice with me prior due to years of drama, nagging, and disgusting display of wealth. I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Really struggling to pick up all of the slack from all of the colleagues that do have kids and feel like the expectation is that parents should turn off while the rest are working from 7am - 2am everyday to make up for it.

Looked at a house (new build) and MIL said the vinyl windows imply the whole house is probably made with cheap, shoddy materials. She thinks everything has to be wood Marvin windows or bust.
