Ladies! Going to be in an office for the first time in several years. What are all the things you keep in your office? What are the little things that make it nicer to spend your time in, make it more comfortable? NYC. Thank you in advance!

NYC here, too. Shoes. Lots of options. I commute in sneakers and change based on the day/outfit.

Extra blazers, toothbrush/paste, floss, hair brush, dry shampoo, deodorant and small perfume. Never know what may happen etc.

Family pics and a bluetooth speaker. I play music most of the day. Decor of some sort to brighten things up. Went on amazon and searched office decor and picked a few things and had delivered to the office directly.

Also, best of luck!!

Agree with shoes and commute in sneakers. If I need nice shoes at home I get 2 pairs so I don’t have to carry them. Also agree with toiletries mentioned + concealer, sunscreen, eyedrops, lipstick/vaseline, hand lotion, extra ponytail holders. I also keep a nail file and clippers and polish remover pads.

Fan for my desk, small space heater for the floor in the winter.

My office would frown on you playing music outloud but headphone are allowed. I need them for my commute anyway - you might want to find out the office culture before you go one way or the other.

I brought my own pens and a pen holder, wireless phone charger.

Some people have their diplomas and admissions hung up, some bring plants, some people have family pictures

I agree with the other posts - I have all of those things in my office. Wanted to add in a lamp - I hate the overhead lighting, so it’s nice to have a desk lamp to keep things nicer.

I have a candle warmer that doubles as a lamp - it gives my office a cozy feel and makes my office smell good without the fire hazard! You can find them on Amazon for around $20!

Lap blanket (I’m chronically cold), plants, pictures and photos for decoration, my memento shelf for my personal-professional knickknacks (my mom got me a clay figure titled “Woman With Balls”), among other things.

Sprucing up the furniture w nice pillows & blankets; framed photographs and artwork; plants; a diffuser with a calming scent; a personal coffee machine; a mini fridge with favorite snacks / drinks; comfy slippers to wear inside my office (so not in heels all day). Hope these are helpful!

Ditto ok the mini fridge with snacks and drinks 👆🏻

Wow, I remember those days now I’m in open space and I carry a portable USB fan, some sneakers in my cubby to take a walk sometimes, and pictures in my mobile device. We do have a gym so I use that and have a locker. Enjoy the office I have a nice one in my house at least😊

In addition to many of the things listed, I have a little humidifier that I use in the winter. I also got an Amazon echo for my new office. I plan to get a nice desk pad with a charger as well. I decorate with ceramics - both stuff I've made and bought, and had some stained glass I made in my last office. Plus I have some stuff by other artists that sell at the shop where I sell my ceramics.

Candle warmer, febreze plug in, mirror, phone stand, a toiletries pouch, dedicated office phone charger, lamp, change of shoes, plain blazer you won’t miss if you leave at the office

Oh also a small space heater and a blanket if your office keeps the ac on high

Looking for tips from seniors. I'm at A1 level at a litigation firm, stepping out of the deer-in-headlights phase. With the Partners assigning work to me in teams of 2-3, there's potential for growth. But with the sheer amount and depth of work on each case it's challenging to take on a more "adult" role. I often find myself in a more assistive role, either by my choice or the Partners'.
How can I accelerate my progress? What are Partners' and Seniors' expectations from year one associates?

It only took me 7 years to figure this system out.... posting in case it helps anyone else! I color coded my classes and printed off numbers according to the number of kids in my classes. I then assign each kid a number that corresponds with my gradebook. When they turn in their projects, they put their number with it. This way, no contact and I can easily see who has and hasn't turned in their projects yet. I take the list down once they remember their number.
