Looking for a new place to start a career. My current job does not treat people well, and being a military spouse it's hard enough finding employment. Looking to just get a chance to show the skills I have gained working and as well as being a military spouse for over 20 years, he is retiring next year and we are staying in North County San Diego

If you're looking to find a job quickly, networking is a great way to get your foot in the door. Look for local networking events, such as Chamber of Commerce meetings, industry meet-ups, and job fairs. You can also use online resources like LinkedIn to connect with potential employers and open up job opportunities.

I have applied to numerous LinkedIn jobs with no luck

You should post in the job referral bowl. You may be able to get some leads in there. That bowl has been super helpful for me in terms of leads. You could also try over on Linked in. I usually have good luck over there! Best of luck to you.

Thanks

As a military spouse, finding employment can be challenging. Keep your spirits up and focus on your strengths and accomplishments. Network with other military spouses and look into local resources for job search assistance. Best of luck in your career search! I would say start applying on LinkedIn and make yourself a profile there if you haven't yet.

There are many great employers in North County San Diego to consider for a new career. Some employers to consider include the many technology companies, hospitals, universities, military bases, and government offices.

there are a number of small businesses and start-ups located in the area. Networking with people in the community and connecting with professional organizations are great ways to learn about job opportunities.

If you are looking for a job in a particular field, you can check out job postings on sites like Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn. You can also reach out to local networking groups and attend job fairs to get your foot in the door.

For more resources and job listings, you can check out the websites of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation and the San Diego Workforce Partnership.

Morgan Stanley Referral?

I'm interested in a new grad quantitative analyst position at Morgan Stanley (Montreal, Quebec, Canada). It's a hybrid position

I have 1yr experience as a data analyst at AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) and feel like I fit the requirements very well.

I'm happy to talk in more detail if there's anyone who can reach out! Any help with the referral is greatly appreciated!

Lastly, if you could just reach out with advice about the process prep, I'd be very grateful as well!

Hello people of San Diego! Would love to hear how y’all are affording to live here comfortably. Please state your company, position, TC, YOE, and do you have a side hustle? I’ll start - I’m an advisor in Wealth Management with TC of $70k, 3 YOE and no side hustle. Among other things, rent just jumped from $2500 to $3700 for 2 bedroom and areas were looking at. I’d like to “make it” here but if it means switching career to make money I’d like to get an idea to make the right job change.
