It sounds like you really can’t afford to go / dont want to go in the context. If that’s the case, then I wouldn’t go just out of some guilt or pressure to go - your friend will absolutely understand. If she doesn’t, she’s not a friend worth going into debt / financial struggle for imho.
Yea it’s not that I don’t want to go I really would’ve gone if I had the means it’s just stressing me out thinking about how much everything will cost and it’s not something I can do just go do for a weekend since it’s international
I would tell your friend now. She’ll understand if you’re a good friend. When you get back on your feet, maybe take her out to dinner to celebrate since you can’t celebrate with her during this season of her life
If she doesn’t understand she’s a terrible person
“I was laid off and haven’t found a job. I don’t have the money to go to your wedding. I am so sorry to miss it. I can’t wait to celebrate when i see you next”.
Tell your friend and don’t go, for sure. It’s a million percent understandable. Good luck with your job search!
