[MBA] those who’ve done a ~1 year MBA - would you recommend? Best programs? Ideally that have good scholarship opps etc. Reasonable cost of living too. Wanting to avoid company sponsorship, and have other personal and life commitments that make 2 years less workable at this stage.

Go to INSEAD. Loads of BCGers there. You’ll have an amazing time. Would recommend starting in Singapore for 1st 2 semesters (called periods) then going to France for last 3.

I’m a part time MBA student, but my close friend went through the 1 year MBA program at Kellogg. 1 year programs are fine, but they only work well if you plan to do something very closely related to what you are doing now. Also, a LOT of the students apparently had company sponsorship. He said it seemed like there was less scholarship money to go around than for the FT program. Full OCR access is provided, but it’s difficult because you get tossed into it right away and not being able to do internships is going to make it harder to career switch. Part time and FT students are given more time to prepare before being tossed into full time recruiting

What do you want to do after?

You’re not going to be able to pivot into PE after a 1 year MBA with only consulting experienxe

London Business School? You can pick how long you want to be there but don't need to do 2 years and could study in the US to get access to recruiting at say CBS.

But before you start applying to business school you need to figure out what you want to do (especially if you intend to do a shorter program) the work backwards into the gaps in your skills, knowledge and relationships that you want to fill during business school.

Emory 1Y? (though your exits might be tied to Atlanta and the South).

At this point you are too late for CBS J-Term.

Thanks! Appreciate the steer on what I’m solving for

Can you help explain why a team would be able to afford hiring an individual under PDM at a higher salary but unable to offer the same package under the Traditional route?

For context, I’m currently negotiating for a role and have expressed some of my concerns. My recruiter has been very helpful, but I’d like to better understand the reasoning before making my decision. The offer is $100k for PDM, but $85k max if brought on as Traditional.

Thank you for your help and any additional thoughts!

How we can expect market correction in bny ? When to communicate with manager for market correction?

I’m a business/commercial lawyer with 8 years experience looking to relocate to Chicago from NYC area, while also trying to make the jump to in-house after only ever working at a boutique firm. It’s been 5 months and I haven’t had any luck applying to job postings on the usual sites (no calls, no interviews, nothing). I can’t tell if this is due to covid, the market, the fact that I don’t have any in-house experience, the fact that I live out of state, or something else entirely. Any insights??

At my uncles wedding in Madrid I remember lying down on the grass in the courtyard after their first dance and crying, my Dad came and saw me, laid down in his suit beside me and asked what was wrong.

“I know my boyfriend wouldn’t dance with me like that at our wedding”

And we just lay there as I cried, and then got up. Had a drink.

Said boyfriend left years ago, and now I have a wonderful man who just asked me what type of dance lessons I want for our wedding next year.

Don’t give up.

Once you've been accepted, can it be revoked if you decide to quit your job? Or to put it another way, barring acts of infamy/legality/stupidity, is there anything I could do that would endanger my acceptance once received?

I kind of want to spend some time with family and travel a bit before an mba and if I get notified in Dec, I'd like to use the time I have in between on myself. I'm fine with losing out on pay, I made some smart investments that money is not the primary issue.
