I'm in Silicon Valley, and been in the industry for about 15 years now. Fell into the corporate in-house role and been in those ever since. I primarily do marketing/brand design. I'd love to get to AD level, but I think my main issues has been that I rock the boat a lot and don't play the "corporate game well", piss off the wrong people. Looking to get a bit of insight on breaking into tech working as an executive assistant after working for BigLaw for 20+ years.

I've been applying to tech companies for executive assistant positions - in particular, remote work positions - and I have yet to get a nibble.

I'm extremely tech savvy and have a lot of initiative but I am afraid that these companies are put off by how long I've been working assuming that I am a middle-aged woman that is not able to go with the flow.

How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. I'm in the middle of a background check with Deloitte for a Project Delivery role. In the background check application I listed my previous employers - Cognizant/Teksystems etc but my resume only had the client names I worked at . Does this pose a problem if Deloitte HR compares my resume to the background check form ? Also my title within cognizant might have been an associate but my resume mentions the designation for the client. Is this a reason for concern? Will they ask me to justify it ?

In the last PDM town hall, they said they were going to lower utilization targets for those that work on projects with capped hours. For those people, have you seen your utilization target lowered? I haven’t seen shit change for me.

Well, I was on an onboarding call and they were talking about staffing and projects. The presenter said to reach out to them if you don’t think your project is a good fit. In his words “you were hired into the firm, not a specific project. We see you here long term... With the exception of PDM model” 😅

PDM specialist at 96k. I have an option to select PDM Specialist 2 or PDM Manager for my promotion with the PPMD. Which one is advisable to prefer Pay wise? I am thinking to take PDM 2 to increase my base pay for the manager.

On average, does PDM work less hours per week than Traditional?

Can you help explain why a team would be able to afford hiring an individual under PDM at a higher salary but unable to offer the same package under the Traditional route?

For context, I’m currently negotiating for a role and have expressed some of my concerns. My recruiter has been very helpful, but I’d like to better understand the reasoning before making my decision. The offer is $100k for PDM, but $85k max if brought on as Traditional.

I've gotten the Deloitte D launch orientation survey. Me start date is on the 16th (less than 2 weeks). I've emailed BI onboarding twice, called my recruiter asking if they are ok with background/employment verification check and I've not gotten a response. I need to put in my 2 week notice and all my recuiter has said is I can push your start date out. Has anyone been thru this ? Does getting the D launch orientation email imply everything is good with background/employment checks
