I recently interviewed for a small strat consulting company (energy industry). I have 3 YoE and would be moving from engineering. the HR person asked me what my salary expectations were I was caught offguard and said I would expect it to be at least what I make now (around 100k). Im now worried theyll lowball me because I really shouldve asked for 120+bonus (I think this is market rate?) But they have salary bands they follow right?So if they pay consultants 140 usually would they offer me 100k?

I had a baby almost a year ago. I should start a 529 account for my child but I am originally from France which also makes her a French citizen and she could easily go to college in France for not much money. It’s pretty much free there, I have 0 Student loan debt. With that in mind, a 529 would not be super helpful if we go that route. Should I consider other options? Do you have suggestions? My Redfin agent recently quit with one day notice to start his own firm. He was the one behind my deal and did a lot of work and help with negotiation. However Redfin called me and said they put their top regional lead on transaction which is set to close in 10 days. I’m conflicted with what to do. As a buyer I know I can switch firms with seller’s consent and it won’t impact the deal, or will it? The agent said if I went with him he’s throw me an additional incentive to close with him.

Should I got for
7ARM - 4.25% interest rate
30 fixed - 4.75 % interest rate

Banker is recommending 7ARM but wanted to get general opinion as well.
