Check the details of your representation agreement. It is with the brokerage not with the individual agent so more than likely you have to close with RedFin
It didn’t explicitly specify that and speaking with Redfin they said they wouldn’t pursue me but would pursue the individual agent
The question here is what was the additional incentive?

This sounds like a VERY slippery slope. It sounds clear that your buyers agent was your procuring cause of sale. He/she and their brokerage they were working the for at the time of your sale is legally entitled to compensation. Was their brokerage name on your purchase contract?
It is not unheard of when an agent leaves a brokerage to reassign you a new rep to finish out your escrow, as technically the deal is with the brokerage at that point, not the agent. I highly doubt that brokerage will let you out of your agreement. When in doubt call the local realtor board provide the entire story and discuss your issue and see what they advise.
Another note- if in escrow, as the unbiased third party, they (escrow officer) cannot not switch the buyers broker representation without written authorization from ALL parties. In my 20+ years of real estate I have never seen this happen fyi.
