Moving back to Chicago after being gone for 12 years. Sound off on good neighborhoods, buildings or even places to buy. LGBTQ+ and creative vibes. Don’t say Lakeview, or I’ll come through this screen with my butter knife!

Logan Square.

Uptown, near montrose beach

Logan, Bucktown, West or South Loop. You will never believe how much these neighborhoods have changed

Right!? I spent a summer in presidential towers during the good ole aughts. West of there was no mans land. Now it’s lofts and fine dining galore!

Tell us more about yourself and your lifestyle.

We should be friends

Best to leave that be. The less people who want to enjoy the lake and summer in Chicago the better it is for me and my neighbors😉.

Try Lakeview?

💩 💩 💨

OP where are you moving from? Also curious about your aversion to Lakeview?

Los Angeles

I moved to Wicker from NYC's East Village. I absolutely love my apartment. But there is zero vibe (creative or otherwise) in this neighborhood. Maybe it's Covid? Maybe it's the weather?

Prbly both. I always thought that area wanted to be more than it is.

What's your experience with Digitas? Give me the good and bad, asking as a writer maybe looking to go there. Benefits, salary, general vibe check?

First day at Accenture coming up. Should I send a Teams ping out to the MD that interviewed me just to say hi and thank you? I’m an L9 consultant and really want to build a good network. Never had to do it at my old job, and I’m a bit of an introvert. Worried I’ll be a nuisance by reaching out to MDs just to say hi?

Quote of the day from a client email: "I don't want to be an alarmist, but I'm worried."

Got a verbal offer for a role in industry over two weeks ago. I’ve followed up with the hiring manager and recruiter multiple times- they keep saying that the offer is pending approval...continued

ZS fish - What do you expect travel to be like after offices open? (I.e. similar to pre-Covid when it was minimal/local?)

Series D startup, Strategy & Ops role, Japan, $90K base, some options, no RSU, previously ~2yrs at BCG Thoughts on the offer guys?

I have my MHA and upon graduation I saw myself working for a large hospital/ healthcare org in a more administrative role. Ended up in consulting despite my desires and am regretting it almost 2 yrs later. Not sure where to start looking since I would take a pay cut with many admin roles or I don’t have enough experience yet for higher paying roles. Trying to determine if switching to industry is worth the pay cut or if anyone has any other suggestions of jobs to look towards, please lmk

Salary question: Associate Director, Comms, Brand Side. $190? More? Less?

All right FB let's share the love - what and how does one get perks for this f-up Delta has? I've seen miles/coupons/hotel arrangements so far.

Going for h1b stamping (from f1 stem opt). Haven't been back since 2016 and want to make sure I'm ready for all questions. Since I'm at EY do I really need any kind of client letter? What documents should I carry and what questions should I be ready for?

When did you tell HR and engagement team you’re pregnant?

I’ve been in my current role for 9 months but am actively interviewing for roles at a 50%+ pay increase. I just received a promotion and won’t know comp until 10/5 but know it’s nowhere close to the other positions. Is it wrong to leave so close to being promoted? Will I burn bridges?

I have been through interviews with an employer for a controller position. I have been told that a background check and medical test will be done. Does anyone know what kind of medical test may be done. I don’t do any kind of drugs. The only thing is that I am diabetic since last 15 years and not sure if that will be an issue for any company to hire. Otherwise I am fine. Just trying to understand if they are trying to find other than drugs ( probably) .

Made it to the weekend w/out strangling my manager, staff or the client. #SnrGoals 🙌🏼

🐠 living in LA - which neighbourhoods do you live in? Trying to find a place that's relatively "walkable", accessible from LAX, and <2300 a month for a 2 bed 2 bath

For my Raymond James friends--how did you decide between W2 and 1099 channel? What were the main benefits that swayed you to which side? Was it the right move?

Anybody pick up an online adjunct teaching position on the side? I’m thinking about it but wanted to see if anybody had any experience with it. Thanks

Need some advice - been at the D for a year and have been on the same implementation project for over a year. Have a technical background and am thinking of starting to look for exits to industry but also am curious what strategy projects are and if I would be interested in the work. Is it worth networking onto a strategy project at the D or should I just continue to look for industry exists and then go b school and then try for MBB/T2 ?

Back in the day, I did my own PR, sales & marketing for whatever business idea I was running with at the time. What’s a good remote sales opportunity I can do anywhere in the world that won’t be painful or too high touch? Where I can use my social & business skills (markets, law, cloud, publishing, media, logistics, algos, social media, books, ebooks, design, podcasting, marketing, press release writing, voiceover, journalism) to earn a few extra shillings?
