They shouldn’t have done that publicly- I’m so sorry that happened to you. It might be wise to see if this is a pattern and if so, mention it to your boss privately in your one on one. Sounds like this person needs some leadership training! Good luck
That shouldn’t have happened during a meeting, and you have every right to be upset about that. It doesn’t foster a time where you can have a meaningful conversation about it. I think feedback is one of the greatest tools we can be given, it HAS to be under the right circumstances for it to be beneficial.
Doing it in that setting sounds like poor management. But, the answer as to whether to accept the feedback depends on the feedback. If it was valid criticism, even if badly delivered, that is what should matter. Think about it and decide whether the criticism is constructive. Pushing back on it may not do you any favors, so I'd lean toward accepting it unless it's wildly out of line.
I got criticized in a team meeting over a call I handled. I’m new, so I didn’t push back, but it stung. I’m planning a one-on-one to share context and show I’m open to growth instead of just taking the hit.
I guess that depends. Do you agree with the feedback? If so, learn from it. If you don't agree, maybe use this as an opportunity to advocate for yourself.
