I don't think they're required anymore and now it just depends on personal style. Personally, I like to add some height and I just love heels/wedges in general so I do wear them pretty much daily.

I love a good platform, too!
Interesting- I noticed this too but I chalked it up to office culture. I switched companies a while back (after taking some time out when my daughter was young) and I assumed my new office was just more casual than my old one. In any case, I alternate between heels and fun sneakers. I’m not a huge fan of flats - they seem boring to me. I love how I look / feel in heels. I also like cool sneakers.
If you like them, wear them! Who cares if other people don't? I certainly don't wear heels, but I always think it's really cool and aspirational when I see other professional women rocking them.
My manager rocks heels every day and I love her for it. I think the fact that she does it even encourages more women to throw some heels on, too. She's also 5'9 already, so when she wears heels, it really makes a statement and I'm here for it.
I’ve traded my heels for flats these days, but I love that you’re sticking with what feels like you. I think heels are less of a norm now, but they’re definitely not gone.

I do think they’re on the way out.

I think all notions of what’s appropriate are over, so if you live heels, wear heels!
