Workday: much higher comp, brand name, but involves proprietary XO (plus some React/JS). Concern: does working on XO limit long-term SDE growth?

ShipBob: lower comp, but standard tech stack, broader hands-on exposure in a startup environment.

Trade-off: short-term money + brand vs long-term flexibility and learning.

Would love inputs from people who’ve worked with proprietary stacks or faced a similar choice—does it matter later?

Well I recently told a guy I have been seeing I have HSV-2. We have not yet been physical but it’s been heading that direction. Man I hate this part - waiting to see what his response will be after he researches and talks to his doctor. I’m on daily meds which help reduce transmission risk. You’d think that since HSV-2 affects 20% of Americans and likely a higher % of gay men, there would be less taboo but it’s hardly ever talked about. Anyone else in my shoes? I got an offer from another firm for 24lpa but they have shared the offer letter of DOJ after 2 months and asked me to negotiate my notice period or look for buyout. What should I do in this case? Should I connect with my current hr to negotiate? Cause I tried convincing the new hr to share the offer letter of DOJ after 3 months but she is not in the favour of that.
