One time I wrote an email complaining about my boss and accidentally sent to my boss instead of my friend. Luckily I didn’t get fired, but she majorly chewed me out. This was 20 years ago, and I still double/triple check my email DL to this day. Also have learned not to ever put complaints or anything like that in writing ever. What is the most stressful thing that has happened to you at work?

That is a lesson learned the hard way! The most stressful thing to happen to me at work was when I was a very new manager, and somebody was wildly upset about something that was not what I approved, but since I was in the spot, it was on my shoulders.

I hate being on the spot.

Picture that … without the email. A coworker and I were at the symphony and complaining about our boss, who, as it turns out, was sitting right behind us. He didn’t let us know he was there. We found out at intermission, when we stood up and saw him.

I would have been mortified!

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

Anybody with a priority date of mid-late 2015 that is considering switching jobs? I have an offer that I was about to sign, but saw that priority dates for filing in EB2 are already at sep 2014 this April. That makes me wonder if i could either miss my window or worse if the date becomes current while my new employer is still doing PERM. Anyone else faced this situation in the past or looked at it more deeply? Recommendations for good lawyers for advice also appreciated.

So… 3.5 year relationship came crashing in Jan due to covid depression, work burn out, lockdown etc. We have stayed in contact and recently he has come around to apologizing and considering getting back together. However he also revealed he started seeing someone casually 4 weeks ago and technically is cheating on her by meeting me for coffee and to discuss this. I’m upset that he’s dating others but shouldn’t be right? I mean, I did the same. Still hurts though. And I told him to sort that out

How can you gauge whether a LMM pe shop with limited past employees has a good culture or not? I’m interviews with a few but feel like I have no clue if itll be sweaty, chill, etc. What questions can I ask to get insight into this?

Anyone else struggling with hormones / mood swings? I am almost 16 weeks and been having a real tough time lately, feeling really down and stressed about things. Sadly, causing tension between me and my partner as well as he cannot relate and seems preoccupied with business as usual. Trying to get out the funk and just telling myself it’s all the hormones.

I received a TS/SCI job offer upon which I turned down for personal reasons. However, I'd completed a full-scope polygraph in the process and was wondering if I'm eligible for federal contracting roles. Does anybody know how I can determine my clearance status?
