Is it a senior consultant position ?
The wlb is good in hsbc except for very few teams where it isn't so you can go for hsbc if wlb and the location are good to you
Can't say about riyadh as I don't know enough pn expenses there
Go for Riyadh. All of the salary is tax free, plus it is much cheaper compared to Dubai, Abu Dhabi. If you are single, its a win-win, very easily you can save around 4 lpm.
If you are married, it can get a bit low in terms of savings, but you can grow a lot in compensation in couple of years.
You can easily build a great corpus and retire/think ahead after 7-8 years.
Well if I consider Riyadh, let's see how the expenses would be for a similar lifestyle as India for a family of 3 :-
Rent - 6-7K SAR in a non-compound near office since traffic is shit there.
School - 3K SAR for international school since CBSE schools there are just awful.
Groceries - 2-3k SAR
Outings - 2K SAR
Utilities - 1.5K SAR
Car - 2-3K SAR. It's a must there
Misc -1K
Total - Approx 19-20K
So that gives me saving of 6-7K SAR , around 1.38-1.6 lakh.
I can save more than that with my wife also working here in India with a decent package plus I wont have to put her career on hold too.
I am trying to negotiate it to 34-36K SAR, otherwise its no point disrupting my settled life here.
Yes, as I said with family savings will get squeezed. Many firms provide education allowance for Manager and above grade, so can negotiate on that. 75-80% school fee gets reimbursed. Flight allowance for family once a year is also a standard deal. Plus in KSA there is a fee of around 400 SAR per month for each family member, which ideally a standard employer pays.
Also check whether its a full-time contract with the firm or one year renewable arrangement in partnership with a local firm. MNCs generally use this arrangement to manage their expat employee numbers and saudization targets.
But still, if fixed is not around 32-35k per month with family, definitely not worth the struggle.
PS - Saying this after 2 consulting full-time offers from Middle-East which I couldn't join due to visa issue and non agreement on salary numbers.
